Description:

Position Purpose:

Under direction of the Director, Patient Transport, individual will transport patients and visitors to destinations throughout the hospital via the mini cab (golf cart) in a safe and timely manner.

What you will do:

• Demonstrates a commitment to consistently provide the highest quality services in a professional manner.

• Transport patients and visitors to desired locations in a timely and safe manner following proper departmental procedure.

• Completes patient transportation within expected time frames.

• Utilizes proper mini cab (golf cart) techniques and etiquette

• Promptly responds to patient transportation requests

• Ability to understand and apply knowledge of basic patient safety concepts, infection control practices, and proper body mechanics.

• Contributes to the achievement of excellence following hospital and departmental guidelines.

Working Conditions:

• Position requires ability to frequently assist in the lifting of objects/individuals, perform moderately difficult manipulative, gross body and hand-eye coordination skills; and sit for prolonged periods of time

• Full-time general hospital environment with considerable periods of sitting and some walking

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma Required

• Experience: Customer service experience required & previous golf cart driving experience desired

• Licensure: Valid driver’s license

• Job Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary; ability to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional manner. Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills.
