Description:

St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team on the Float team

The primary objective of this position is to improve quality. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Schedule: Part time 12 hour night shifts
  • Incorporates education into daily patient activity (i.e. medication, equipment, food-drug interactions)

    • Documents in a clear and legible manner.

    • Documents assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and outcomes according to policy.

    • Documents post-op, transfer and discharge assessment.

    • Communicates transfer of patient responsibility (i.e. shift report guided by the plan of care or any other pertinent documents)

    • Documents medication use and monitors it’s effects.

    • Completes admission assessment according to policy.

    • Responds effectively in an emergency situation so that the patient’s immediate needs are addressed.

    • Follows clinical policies, i.e. weighing of patients, medication administration, etc.

    • Provides wound care and maintains drainage tubes

    • Initiates and maintains venous access

    • Demonstrates ability to perform 12 Lead EKG’s

    • Properly administers Organ Donation Policies

    • Maintains and provides continuous renal replacement therapy

    • Interprets dysrhythmias

    • Performs Thrombolytic Therapy

    • Performs hemodynamic monitoring

    • Performs cardiac pacing

    • Provides ventilator management and weaning

    • Performs conscious sedation

    • Assesses and documents patients rehab needs and functional skills upon admission

    • Collaborates with rehab team to reinforce interdisciplinary functional skills teaching

    • Completes “Functional Independence Measure” forms on admission and discharge.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • PA RN License

    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    • BSN

    • 2-4 years experience preferred
