Food Service Associate Lead

Schedule: Part Time - 24 hours a week

Shift: Various – (Days, Evenings, Rotating)

Location: Darby, PA

Department: Food & Nutrition Patients

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Purpose:

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Dietary Lead to join our Food and Nutrition team! 

What You Will Do:

  • The main focus of our Lead Dietary Aide is providing personalized meal service to hospital patients.
  • Assisting patients with meal selection, serving meals to patients, clearing soiled and used trays from patients.
  • Stocking nursing unit pantries with supplies, taking meal carts to and from the patient floors, breaking down meal carts and various other side work duties assigned by management during shifts.
  • Serving cafeteria customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Stocking various areas in the cafeteria and general sanitation.
  • Assisting other cafeteria and patient service staff as needed.
  • Responsible for the record keeping of safe food temperatures and refrigeration temperatures.
  • Works with management to ensure smooth operation and Quality Control.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalency (required)
  • Healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Effectively communicates with customers, clients, and management.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and alone.
  • Ability to interact with kitchen and supervisory staff.
  • At least 2-3 years of Dietary Aide Experience
