JOB DUTIES
1. Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information.
3. Care and maintenance of testing equipment; cleaning as required by standards and reporting of malfunctions to appropriate service individuals according to policy.
4. Assist in preparation of the triennial IAC re-application documents as necessary to maintain lab accreditation; participate in peer review on a monthly basis per IAC standards.
5. Obtain mandatory CMEs to maintain active credential status for licensure according to the ARDMS.
6. Participate in taking call according to policy and / or the needs of the department providing 24/7 coverage to the hospital; assist with coverage on all shifts at multiple locations according to department needs.
7. Contribute to the education and training of physicians, fellows, students, co-workers and new employees in the practice of vascular technology and interpretation of vascular studies.
8. Required to fulfill general ultrasound exams.
9. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
Education: Graduate of an accredited Sonography program.
Licensure: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required. RVT- Registered Vascular Technology certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is a requirement within 3 months of hire date. BLS required.
Experience: One to two years of previous job-related experience.
