Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including preparation and distribution of medications to patients and patient care areas. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will do:
Assists pharmacists in receiving and processing physician’s orders
-Receives rx from patient, collects appropriate information to process rx (demographics, insurance,
allergies, current medications)
-Processes prescriptions accurately and efficiently
-Obtains correct medication, strength, dosage form and quantity to complete order
-Prepares/fills prescription for pharmacist verification
-Utilizes Pharmacy-at-a-Glance in QS1 to monitor workload and prioritize tasks
-Pharmacy Tech II only - Receives telephone prescription orders from providers (repeat back and verify
information
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
1 year pharmacy technician experience preferred
OR
Registered Pharmacist-Intern with the State of Iowa at the time of hire
