Position Purpose:
Oversees the daily clinical operations, staffing, budgeting and quality initiatives of a dedicated med-surg unit. Responsible for hiring, mentoring, and evaluating staff while ensuring evidence-based care. Key duties include enhancing patient outcomes, maintaining safety standards, and fostering collaboration with physicians and nursing teams
What will you do:
· Clinical Leadership & Staffing: Recruit, train, and manage nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate, high-quality care coverage.
· Quality & Patient Care: Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital standards (e.g., patient safety goals, infection control).
· Administrative Management: Manage unit budgets, monitor expenses, and manage unit supplies.
· Staff Development: Conduct performance evaluations, provide mentorship, and handle disciplinary actions.
· Collaboration: Act as a liaison between staff, physicians, and administrative leadership to improve patient outcomes
Education & Qualifications
*Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
* Specialty certification desirable.
* Previous experience as regular Charge Nurse or Assistant Head Nurse level on a nursing unit required.
* Strong leadership traits, as well as experience with staffing, scheduling, and strong communication skills necessary.
Licensure:
* Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Florida
