Medical Records Clerk - HIM - Part Time Days

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and technical tasks within the Health Information Management (HIM) department. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of medical record requests, coordination of patient charts, and maintenance of documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This is a part time day shift position (21 hours weekly) working Monday's Wednesday's and Friday's.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer and direct incoming calls related to medical records.

• Scanning patient documentation into EMR Process requests for medical record information in compliance with privacy regulations.

• Faxing patient discharge summaries to the next level of care.

• Prepare and maintain patient folders, charts, and reports.

• Distribute the daily census and other relevant documentation.

• Coordinate the flow of medical records and information throughout the department efficiently and accurately.

• Perform chart reviews, including opening and closing of patient charts.

Required Criteria:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Minimum of 1-2 years job related experience

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proficient in computer applications and office equipment.

Salary Range:

$28.73-$30.84/Hourly
