The Mechanical Engineer filling this role can expect to be responsible for  executing design, test and validation activities for advanced systems and components. This position will be expected to quickly become the technical expert in Mechanical Design, Implementation and support of variable complexity Mechanics and Test Equipment which may also include software & electrical content, while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements when planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and leadership. 

What You Will Do:

  • In this position you will execute in support of assigned program test & validation processes for components through complex mechanical systems to ensure they meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. 
  • You will become conversant with the ability to implement software/ firmware engineering, hardware engineering, cross domain solutions with guidance. 
  • You will develop and implement test plans, procedures, and protocols to validate functionality and performance. 
  • You will work on program sustainment and modernization efforts spanning the product lifecycle, support to requirements definition, software/hardware development & integration, test & validation, and deployment & failure investigations. 
  • You will work closely with the program team to ensure the product delivery to the customer and end users is done with minimal impact to the operational execution. 
  • Communicate issues, status updates, and progress both internally and externally, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders. 
  • You will perform integration, test, and documentation duties to ensure proper operation of product within both factory and operational platforms. 
  • You will adhere to accepted standards and processes for development, including participating in peer reviews, maintaining test environments & coverage, providing feedback for product improvements as well as working to ensure consistency in quality and performance. 
  • You will provide execution status of assigned tasks based on planned activities as required to support performance metrics. 

Qualifications You Must Have:  

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • Understanding of mechanical systems, components, their assembly and maintenance. 
  • Experience with configuring, integrating, troubleshooting complex mechanisms. 
  • Experience with Agile process management. 
  • Experience with Test Driven Development 
  • Desire to work and thrive in a team environment and willingness to learn and expand experiences

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
