What You Will Do:

• Fabricate and assemble electrical, mechanical and plastic systems as necessary and assigned
• Provide detailed subject matter expertise as required for the technical design and production for all animation projects overseen by AD&P
• Provide an overall subject matter resource to WDI Animation projects, available to oversee projects in all phases of development, as requested and as assigned
• Provide technical oversight to multiple outside vendors that are contracted to produce animation for AD&P
• As assigned, become the overall technical point of contact for specific vendors
• Provide overall QC support, as assigned, for AD&P projects
• Provide input into the evaluation of potential animation vendors
• Provide direct input into and review of company technical standards for the production of animation
• Participate, as assigned, in Post Turnover Support (PTS) activities
• Ability to perform Chief level duties to include; Performance Connection, timely communications to internal events, resource planning and the development of staff
• Support the effort of developing conceptual technical designs for animation
• Support the initial and on-going project estimating and scheduling for assigned projects
• Helps to ensure Disney QA/QC starts are met for assigned AD&P projects

Required Qualifications & Skills

In one or both areas -

Mechanical:

• Experience working in collaborative, cross-disciplinary technical environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with AWS standards and welding techniques, including AWS D1.1 and D1.6.
• Ability to perform machining tasks using manual and CNC tools; experience in CNC machine programming (MasterCam knowledge preferred).
• Ability to use and interpret calibrated assembly and measurement equipment (such as torque wrenches and calipers).
• Proficiency with engineering software tools, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or BIM 360.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities independently.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support global project requirements.

Electrical:

• Design and development of electrical assemblies and systems, including producing wiring diagrams, wiring lists, and connector schedules.
• Understanding of electronic and electrical design principles.
• Electro-mechanical assembly skills.
• Competence in wiring, terminating, and troubleshooting complex assemblies and systems.
• Proficiency in advanced set-up and repair using diagnostic techniques, equipment, and software.
• Knowledge of UL Compliance related to the product line.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience working with Disney.
• Vendor experience should include managing overall projects with multiple vendors as well as guiding vendors’ work in specific disciplines
• Direct (hands on) experience in the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of Animated figures
• 10 years of mechanical fabrication and assembly experience, preferably in robotics, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
• 10 years in designing mechanical/ electrical systems and mechanisms.
• 10 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly, with emphasis on wiring, terminating, repairing, or troubleshooting complex electrical assemblies and systems.
• Certified Welder or will to be certified to AWS standards

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College or trade school degree preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

The base salary for this position in California is $95,500.00-$128,000.00 based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
