The Distribution Project Coordinator (Reliability & Maintenance) works individually or with the team to facilitate timely and quality distribution reliability projects by preparing construction plans and material lists, ensuring proper accounting, system mapping and compliance with specifications and guidelines. In addition, they focus on maintenance of electrical distribution system right of ways through coordination of vegetation clearing activities. They direct and inspect work performed by Cleco and contractor crews on projects to ensure compliance with specifications and guidelines. They also investigate into service-related problems and provide assistance in service restoration activities.

Follows all company safety rules and guidelines, as contained in the Cleco safety manual.
Model and promote ethical business conduct and compliance with both the letter and spirit of all laws, rules and regulations to which Cleco is subject, annual ethics training will be provided.
Utilizing readily available code books, ensure that distribution facilities meet applicable codes and regulations.
Using the Electric Service Standards and Cleco Distribution Construction Manual, create job packets that ensure the proper construction designs and materials are used on the distribution system.
Utilizing ArcFM Design Tool, verify that designs provide the appropriate system mapping information to accurately reflect any changes to the Distribution System.
Oversee work activities of construction crews to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and production metrics.
Ensures that all work orders in their area of responsibility are worked in a timely manner following established work management procedures.
Investigates and implements resolutions to multiple outage issues in their area of responsibility.
Assists with management of the pole inspection program, pole replacement program, and Joint Use transfers in area of responsibility.
Inspects and approves all ROW contractor activities to ensure adherence to quality and arborist standards. Obtains permission from external customers to clear and apply approved herbicides to maintain the Distribution System, providing quality service reliability.
Develops a working knowledge of Kite, a GIS based tool for tracking reliability and maintenance efforts, to input accurate data effectively.
Investigates and addresses service-related problems and customer complaints. Address all customer complaints and damage claims in a timely and courteous fashion to meet Customer Satisfaction goals.
Readily available for after-hours emergency work, as well as serving as a member of scheduled call out team as necessary, to ensure timely restoration of service. Decision-making involves the use of judgment and there is some emphasis on the development of new/improved procedures and on the translation of policy into operational plans.
Assists with service restoration activities, including circuit patrol, damage assessment, and contractor crew supervision.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
Secondary/High School Diploma
3-5+ years of related experience
Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job
Strong business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry
Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
Strong planning and project management skills
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas, and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
Proficient in basic computer skills
Must have or acquire a Utility Arborist License within 6 months of employment
Must maintain the utility Arborist license
