Job Description:
Guggenheim is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and process driven Senior Technology Trader who will be integral part of the execution team in cash equities. The candidate will work closely with the the rest of the Execution team, Equity Sales, ECM and Research. Y ou will be responsible for revenue generation, executing trades and providing information regarding market activity and value-added content to our clients’ trading desk. The role will be based in NY and the candidate will sit on the NY trading desk.
Essential Job Functions:
Senior technology trader on the Guggenheim Equities High Touch Trading Desk
Execute equity trades in US technology sector securities on behalf of institutional clients, ensuring best execution and in adherence to firm/regulatory compliance standards
Proactively identify & pursue opportunities to increase firm’s market share in technology sector trading through enhanced execution, client engagement, & differentiated insight
Work closely with sales traders & other sector traders, Derivatives Trading, Low Touch Equity Trading, Equity Sales, Research & the broader firm to align trading activity with firmwide coverage & priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
10-15+ years of technology trading experience
Very strong buyside relationships with key thought leaders
Proven ability to handle orders of all sizes with a deep understanding of equities and derivatives
Fundamental understanding of TMT subsectors (Software/IT Services, Semiconductors, Hardware, Fintech/Payments, Media, Telecom , Communication Infrastructure)
Ability to produce clear, concise market commentary for a wide distribution (specialists, generalists, etc.)
Deep understanding of trading dynamics and market structure in Tech names
Demonstrated track record of revenue generation
Basic Qualifications
Series 7 and 63 registered or must be acquired within 150 days of employment
Work Location
Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week.
Salary
Annual base salary range is $275,000 to $300,000
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
