Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, hands-on Multimedia Designer to play a central role in elevating how GMO communicates ideas and insights through video and multimedia. This role combines video production and post-production, on-location and in-studio shooting, and graphic design for marketing and advertising materials across print and digital channels.

The ideal candidate is both technically skilled and creatively driven—someone who is comfortable behind the camera, in the edit suite, and collaborating with marketers to bring ideas to life across channels.

The Multimedia Designer will report to the Head of Digital, Design and Content Development and operate as part of highly collaborative Digital, Design, and Content teams. He or she will work closely with the Lead Designer to ensure all creative output aligns with GMO’s brand standards and visual direction and is effectively executed across video, motion, digital platforms, and content. While the role includes design and digital support, video production and motion content are the primary focus of this position.

Responsibilities

Video Production & Editing

  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for marketing, advertising, internal communications, and digital platforms.
  • Capture video in a controlled studio environment as well as on location throughout the office (interviews, presentations, b-roll, events).
  • Set up and manage lighting, audio, and camera equipment to ensure professional-quality output for recorded and live events, including webcasts and broadcast TV; troubleshoot technical and production challenges in real time.
  • Adept at working with the senior leaders who will be in front of the camera, including the ability to make them feel comfortable, ensure they look their best and elicit a good ‘performance’ from them.
  • Edit footage into polished, on-brand final assets using best practices for pacing, sound, color correction, and graphics.
  • Optimize video content for multiple formats, including horizontal and vertical, and channels (web, social, paid media, presentations).
  •

    Motion & Design Support

    • Design and produce marketing and advertising materials, including digital ads, graphics for our website and social channels, and collateral.
    • Translate stakeholder needs into thoughtful, high-impact visual solutions.
      • Present design concepts clearly and confidently, incorporating feedback constructively.
      • Ensure all creative output aligns with brand guidelines and visual standards, across formats and applications.
      • Develop and maintain reusable motion templates (openers, lower thirds, title cards) to  enhance video content.
      • Apply strong design sensibility—typography, composition, and pacing—to motion and multimedia work.
      • Support website publishing and email template design for marketing campaigns.
      •

        Collaboration & Project Management

        • Work closely with marketing stakeholders to understand objectives, timelines, and audience needs.
        • Partner closely with the Lead Designer to translate brand standards into motion and multimedia applications, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables.
        • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
        • Contribute creative ideas and recommendations to improve storytelling and visual impact, including pitching content concepts.
        • Use performance metrics and feedback to inform future ideas and iterate on formats, timing, content and promotion.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4–6+ years of experience producing video and multimedia content in a corporate or marketing environment, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates both your talent and range.
  • Proven ability to shoot and edit high-quality video content for digital channels.
  • Strong technical knowledge of camera operation, lighting, and audio production.
  • Proficiency with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
  • Solid design foundation with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Experience creating motion graphics or simple animations for video content.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and brand consistency across formats.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to enhance creative workflows or output.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing marketing assets across digital channels (web, social, paid media).
  • Familiarity with web content management systems, email design, and basic HTML.
  • Knowledge of media formats, codecs, and asset management best practices.
  • Experience analyzing content performance and applying insights to improve output.
  • Photography experience.

Character

  • Proactive, high energy, positive attitude, professional, and mature.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust to shifting priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-directed and motivated.
  • Willingness to jump in and get things done.
  • A high degree of intellectual curiosity, eager to experiment, learn new tools and techniques.
  • Ability to professionally represent GMO and perform consistently with the firm’s values and competencies.
