Overview
This position is responsible for supervising, developing, planning, assigning, implementing, and completing all work orders and maintenance actions assigned to the department. These maintenance tasks include but are not limited to: Facilities inspections, troubleshooting, repair, replacement, assembly, servicing, preventive maintenance actions, carpentry/woodworking, locks and door hardware, Medical Gas System, TV System, Nurse Call System, Pneumatic Tube System, Elevators, Roof repair and/or coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors to facilitate maintenance required. Subject to be scheduled on-call rotations on weekends and holidays as well as responding to emergencies and disasters in person, if and when requested. Expected to work harmoniously with other departments, being proactive, exhibiting timely follow up, and participating on work teams/committees when opportunities present themselves.

What you will do
  • Lead and manage the Facilities Maintenance Team, while providing technical and project direction. Responsible for managing, distributing, and prioritizing work orders to the team. Coaches, mentors, and promotes departments’ development through training and team building. Manages maintenance team in the areas of performance, job duties, and shift scheduling. Monitors and replenishes maintenance inventory based on team needs, while staying within budget. Coordinate and oversees multiple Contractors as needed regarding outsourced work. Manages the interview and hiring process of new team members. Manages and accomplishes the annual performance evaluations of the Facilities Maintenance Team. Inspects and identifies the building facilities to identify maintenance needs ensuring the beautification and upkeep of the Facility. Manages the Annual Fire Door Inspection Program. Supervises, schedules, and distributes preventative maintenance inspections ensuring actions are completed in a timely manner. Oversees the TV Systems. Update of Software as required. Manages the Medical Gas and Pneumatic Tube System components (if applicable), Elevator, and Roof maintenance to include the coordination with Contractors to complete maintenance actions as required.
  • Ensures all reported potential equipment failures or unsafe conditions are addressed and resolved immediately. Knowledgeable on DNV, NFPA, AADMS, ADA, OSHA, local, state and federal codes, requirements or regulations and is in accordance with Riverside policies and procedures and communicates them to the team continuously. Ensures appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves are provided and worn as required.
  • Supervises and/or oversees the operation and maintenance of the department’s mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, generators, and various hand tools required for carpentry/woodworking, Painting, Locks and Door Hardware, Medical Gas System, TV System, Nurse Call System, Pneumatic Tube System, Elevators, and Roof repair.
  • Performs/Assists co-workers outside of related skill when required during manning short falls or in an Emergency situation to include but not limited to: General Facility Maintenance, Plumbing, Electrical, and/or Heating/Air Conditioning work. Snow Removal. Assist other departments/units in times of Disaster.

Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required)

Experience
  • 5-6 years Multi-trade experience with commercial equipment repair with a concentration in one of the Specialized skills preferred: carpentry/woodworking, locks and door hardware, Medical Gas System, Nurse Call System, Pneumatic Tube System, Elevators and/or roof repair (Preferred)
  • 2 years Healthcare experience (Preferred)
  • 2 years Supervisory experience (Waived if hired in role before 2021) (Required)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Healthcare Operations Professional - DNV Basic within 1-1/2 Yrs(Required)
  • Certified Healthcare Operations Professional - DNV Advanced within 2 Years(Required)
  • Journeyman certificate in electrical, HVAC or Plumbing Upon Hire (Preferred)
  • Operates company vehicles as essential function of the job
  • Valid Drivers License Required
