Position Summary

The Home Health Regional Director of Operations is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Home Health Regional Director of Operations assists in building a cohesive team and focuses heavily on the communication of and commitment to the Company's vision. S/he assists the Home Health Executive Director in strategizing ways to meet and exceed our critical metrics, including budget. Through management of policies and procedures, budgeting and financial oversight, the Home Health Regional Director of Operations is responsible for the effective and efficient use of all resources.


Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and reviews financial information to prioritize and direct staffing, resource allocation, and objectives for assigned area(s).
  • Initiates and directs change to increase efficiency and meet objectives, as well as manages budget, staff, calendar, and facilities to support organizational finance and operation goals.
  • Develops and maintains business plans to effectively operate the business focusing on all pillars of the organization.
  • Establishes control standards and develops budget and cost controls for areas of responsibility.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned team members are aware of and comply with company, government, and patient policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assures state and federal regulatory compliance applicable to home health and reimbursement issues.
  • Monitors clinical management continuously and provides direction/redirection as necessary.
  • Recruits, hires, orients, assigns, evaluates, and guides staff positions to meet agency and patient needs.
  • Ensures delivery of quality care to patients, enhancement of business development, and continuous improvement of agency efficiency and fiscal success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related Human Services field strongly preferred
  • At least two (2) years of experience in the healthcare industry required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience required.


Skills

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Must be able to travel frequently overnight as required (approximately 75% of the time).


Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Compensation range: $63.50 - $100.26

  

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities
