Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Transportation Coordinator or designee, the Bus Driver is responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport residents/clients to scheduled and unscheduled destinations. This role ensures the safety, comfort, and dignity of all residents/clients while following established transportation policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles for local scheduled and unscheduled trips as assigned.
Ensure resident/client safety at all times, utilizing required safety equipment including seatbelts, wheelchair tie-downs, and other securement devices.
Assist residents/clients with boarding and exiting vehicles, including support with canes, walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, packages, and other assistive devices.
Provide assistance to and from the vehicle and destination entrance as needed, observing resident/client behavior and reporting concerns appropriately.
Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations; use hands-free devices only when mobile communication is required.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report incidents, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to a supervisor.
Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, stocked, and maintained in a safe operating condition.
Additional Responsibilities
Complete required documentation, including trip logs, preventive maintenance records, and fuel purchase reports.
Serve as a courier between facilities as needed, transporting inter-office mail, supplies, and packages.
Attend mandatory meetings, in-service trainings, and complete a minimum of 12 hours of required annual training.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Complete all required annual education and compliance training, including Privacy, Security, and HIPAA requirements.
Job Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Prior driving or transportation experience preferred.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Licensure:
Valid driver’s license required.
Must meet all requirements of National Church Residences’ motor vehicle policy.
