ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervisory Requirements:
- Acts as a back up to APAC Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor.
- May provide direct leadership to other quality team members (Quality Engineer I and or Quality Techs) based on business conditions,
- Project leadership for continuous improvement and corrective action teams.
- Acts safely and ethically at all times and is responsible for the quality department’s safety performance. Upholds and acts according to our values, mission, and vision.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Project leader for continuous improvement teams utilizing Six Sigma & Lean techniques that improve key metrics (Cost of Quality, Customer Complaint metrics, Yield) and Supplier Quality.
- Completes a minimum of 1 CI project per year.
- Aides in developing metrics that track and report status of the overall business Quality System (i.e. Cost of Quality, customer complaints, product non-conformances, etc).
- Develops the “standard” for process routers/travelers and work instructions for process / equipment that can audited. Works with process improvement teams to ensure training occurs on new/revised processes and to ensure documentation adheres to the developed “standard”.
- Lead process improvements that align with corporate social responsibility (CSR) and customer ESG requirements.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize statistical tools (SPC, Minitab, etc) to identify trends and lead continuous improvement projects that enhance production quality and reliable performance.
- Drive process quality improvements working with Production Engineering through the implementation of automated process controls, SPC, sampling systems, enhanced manufacturing procedures and utilization of statistical techniques. Audit process controls (FMEA, Control Plan) implemented for compliance.
- Customer Requirements:
- Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7 QC Tools, etc) to resolve Customer complaints, Customer audit findings or Return Material Authorizations in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence. Directs failure analysis, root cause analysis and corrective actions. As project leader, reviews complaints to ensure identified root cause/corrective and preventative actions are effective.
- Develops reports to meet customer needs and frequently interacts with Customers.
- Assists Sales and Operations with Customer requirements and specifications.
- Assists in hosting customer audits and customer visit teams.
- May attend customer Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Supports APAC Quality Manager in updating and maintaining Customer Scorecard.
- Initial Vendor Registration: Lead the end-to-end preparation and execution of audits to secure "Approved Vendor List (AVL)" status with major semiconductor clients (Samsung, SK Hynix, TSMC, ST Microelectronics, etc.).
- On-site Audit Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for Customer Audits (both on-site and virtual/ remote); manage root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and post-audit reporting & follow up actions.
- Process Control: Define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters and perform Process Capability (Cpk) analysis to minimize variance in production.
- Quality Management System:
- Provides support to the APAC Quality Manager or Quality Supervisor to maintain requirements for the Quality & Environment Management System.
- Project leader for Problem Solving Processes (8D, 5 Why, 7 QC Tools, etc) for Quality Management System Corrective Actions.
- Team member for the Process Change Control Board (Externally – Customers & Suppliers, Internally) and works with originators of process changes to ensure adherence to the SOP.
- Maintains the Nonconforming Material Process and develops actions to reduce non-conformances through Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
- Provides support for the Quality Management System which includes Document Control, Calibration, Corrective & Preventative Actions, Complaints, etc.
- Assign Corrective and Preventive Actions.
- Ensure internal documents and controls are up to date and followed.
- Perform periodic internal audits of the quality management system. Develop action plans to address findings. Prepares for and coordinates external quality system audits.
- Develop standard operating procedures for all processes related to the Quality Management System. Implement and modify procedures to include processing, quality and equipment improvements.
- Supports APAC Quality Manager in updating and maintaining Supplier Scorecards.
- Issues Supplier SCARs and assures CA.
- Establish raw material and product acceptance criteria. Works with Suppliers on discrepant material issues and Supplier Requests for Change.
- Standardize the calibration of inspection and test equipment. Calibration duties include knowledge of calibration of micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc. Coordinates equipment calibration from outside sources. Maintains calibration database and ensures on-time performance of scheduled calibration.
- Train and inform company personnel on quality standards and procedures.
- Establish and implement ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environment) management systems tailored to our current scale and future growth.
- On-site Audit Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for Management Systems Certification and Surveillance Audits; manage root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and post-audit reporting & follow up actions.
- Documentation Control: Develop and manage the hierarchy of quality manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP) with stakeholders.
- Non-conformity Management: Drive the 8D reporting process for internal and external non-conformities, ensuring robust 5-Why Root Cause Analysis to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Inspection Standards: Establish rigorous criteria for Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Outgoing Quality Control (OQC).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (metallurgy, material science, chemistry or chemical engineering degree advantageous).
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Quality Assurance experience within the Semiconductor industry or equivalent.
- Audit Expertise: Proven track record of successfully passing Customer On-site Audits and managing ISO 9001/14001 certifications.
- Business Growth Mindset: Demonstrated experience in building or scaling quality processes within a small-to-mid-sized organization.
- Execution-Oriented: A proactive "leader" who prefers direct involvement in problem-solving over high-level supervision.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex technical requirements from global Tier-1 customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean and or Six Sigma Green Belt certification or 2-3yrs of Continuous Improvement experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems, quality function and technical products.
- Experience with calibration, metrology and quality system auditing will be beneficial.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: As this role requires communication with customers, employees, senior management, internal & external engineering and senior management, the individual must have fluent oral and good written skills in English proficiency (capable of handling quality documentation and email communication).
MATHMATICAL SKILLS: The individual must be able to solve basic statistical equations.
REASONING ABILITY: Sound decision-making skills are a pre-requisite. Also, the individual must be able to take decisive action based on limited input and also determine when a decision requires supervisory input.
