Spectrum is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to handle building upkeep, coordinate with service vendors and support facility safety. Your work ensures our offices remain safe, efficient and welcoming, making a direct impact on daily operations and the customer experience.
Responsibilities
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform routine maintenance for building interiors, exteriors and grounds throughout the year
- Assist with maintaining office equipment and manage inventory of supplies
- Support budget planning and help select and coordinate work with facility service vendors and contractors
- Ensure vendor and contractor activity does not disrupt daily functions, including for capital improvements
- Help administer facility safety programs, conduct safety trainings and coordinate drills in line with regulatory guidelines
- Repair and maintain electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, perform minor carpentry and painting, and monitor backup generators
- Maintain facility security through records management of keys, access levels and alarm codes
Working Conditions
- Exposure to dust and varying indoor temperatures
- Work and travel in inclement weather
Physical Requirements
- Carry, climb and operate extension ladders up to approximately 28 feet and 75 pounds
- Work standing for 50 to 70 percent of the time

Required Qualifications
Experience
- Building maintenance work experience
- Plumbing or carpentry experience
- Electrical wiring work experience
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
- Accurate measurement using tapes and measuring tools
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations and company policies
- Skill in identifying wire sizes and colors and working with small components
- Proficient record keeping and organization abilities
- Comfortable working at heights such as poles and roofs
- Skilled with hand tools including drills, hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers
- Independent work capabilities
- Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Understanding of basic mathematics, electronics and cable television products
- Familiarity with National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, HVAC systems and backup generators
- Ability to focus and utilize close and peripheral vision
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance as required
