What You’ll Do:

  • The role of a Production Technician is versatile and may encompass tasks related to the seed production plant, harvesting, receiving, conditioning, treater operation, packaging, warehousing, and shipping, as well as general maintenance as directed by the supervisor
  • Harvesting duties include activities such as combining, trucking, seed drying
  • Safely operating equipment using PLC computer automation software
  • Entering data such as testing results and quality concerns
  • Warehouse responsibilities may include inventory management and moving seed using forklifts
  • Ensuring compliance with Quality and Safety requirements, including developing and reviewing procedures

Education:

High School Diploma/GED

What Skills You Need:

  • You are willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
  • Ability to learn and train on the job under the guidance of others
  • You are comfortable with technology and possess a good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required 
  • You are willing and able to perform the physical aspects of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
  • You can work independently as well as in a team environment
  • You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • You have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent critical thinking skills
  • You value health and safety! You will always work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure you, and your colleagues, go home safely every day
  • You are able to work overtime hours, which include evenings and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Two-Year Diploma or 4-year Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing or a related field
  • You have one (1) year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (tractors, forklifts, etc.)
  • Ability to work well with others and learn new things
