Under the direction of the IMF Head of the Mediation Office, the Regional Mediator will work as part of the Office of Mediation staff and mainly assist with the work of the Office in regional and country offices located in South Asia. 

Deliverable(s):

The role of the Regional Mediator is to help employees think through their issues and guide them toward a mutually agreeable solution to productively resolve conflict.  She will also help visitors develop personal skills and strategies to support their ability to engage in, manage, and address work-related problems.

The South Asia Regional Mediator will also be responsible for Outreach, Training, Mediation and Conflict Coaching for Fund offices and colleagues in regional and country offices located in South Asia, support them in work-related issues, as well as conduct outreach efforts, including visiting different offices in the South Asia region and organizing presentation and awareness activities. The South Asia Regional Mediator may also handle cases and outreach in other regions as required and requested by the office in order to provide support in those regions, or elsewhere where a particular language or area of expertise is needed.

The Regional Mediator will also provide similar support for all employees as well assist with other responsibilities for the operation of the Mediation Office as requested. Such responsibilities can include mediation, coaching, facilitation, training & capacity building, drafting mediation agreements and reports, analysis of systemic issues and recommendations, assisting with special projects and supporting efficient administration of the office, and other responsibilities as required.

Contract terms:

Appointment Start Date: November 3, 2025

Appointment End Date: November 2, 2026

Approximate number of working days: Approximately 21 working days per Fiscal Year

Compensation*: Aparna Mukerjee will be paid for her services as a Regional Mediator a daily rate of USD $814.00 net.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid arrangement, with travel envisaged. Economy travel, hotel, and per diem will be reimbursed for travel within the region.
