Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement departmental operational policies, procedures, strategies, and goals that align with the annual budget, Health and Wellness vision, YWCA mission, and Exos values

  • Uphold and lead by example a high level of customer service with both internal and external customers to maximize overall experience, profitability, and member retention

  • Coordinate and oversee all team activities, including operations, sales, program marketing, and facility maintenance, to ensure operational efficiency and economy

  • Directly oversee Member Services, Membership Sales, and Kid Care teams and processes and department reporting 

  • Maintain the quality of services provided by ensuring all departmental goals and strategies remain in alignment with the Health and Wellness vision and YWCA and Exos values

  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of operational standards while ensuring staff competence in customer service to sustain long-term member satisfaction

  • Monitor team performance according to established standards and take necessary action to advise, assist, and communicate according to performance levels

  • Confer regularly with Leads and Coordinators to review financial activity and sales to determine necessary changes in programs or facility operations

  • Analyze, prepare, and direct departmental budgets to ensure all financial goals are met and site practices align with client standards

  • Develop departmental programs, services, and related pricing plans while overseeing facility layout and cleanliness to maximize brand image and sales

  • Manage a structured member lifecycle by ensuring new members are tracked and called at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals to resolve issues and promote club areas

  • Collaborate with leadership to perform competitive research and trend analysis, evaluating existing programs for continuous improvement and innovation

  • Practice professional conflict resolution that models respect for differences and utilizes a calm, non-threatening, and de-escalating style

  • Facilitate the accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, including paperwork, payroll, and the preparation of operational and financial reports

  • Provide leadership to the safety program to meet legal standards, facilitate employee health and safety, and ensure a safe operating facility

  • Directly supervise, develop, and lead employees through interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and managing disciplinary actions or complaints

  • Establish clear performance standards and job descriptions for direct reports, maintaining a system to evaluate individual and departmental success

  • Ensure all supervisors receive comprehensive training in leadership responsibilities, including staff coaching, writing job descriptions, and problem-solving

  • Facilitate team training and development that aligns with operational plans and serve as Manager on Duty or community representative as required

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness, Business, or related field

  • A minimum of two years of experience in health and wellness, club management or program management experience 

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. 

  • Proficiency in program development, implementation and ongoing management 

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with innovation, collaboration and initiative 

  • Detail focused, able to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks 

  • Limited travel (5-10%) required 

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn internal software systems 

  • Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills

Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $67,950 - $68,950/year. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs. Exos offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full time employees (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements), which includes health insurance, life and disability benefits, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Additionally, Exos offers a variety of part time benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).
