Your Role as Risk Placement Advisor – Renewals

As a Risk Placement Advisor – Renewals, you will play a critical role in designing, marketing, and securing optimal risk solutions for our commercial clients. Working alongside our Account Executive team, you will explore all viable insurance programs—traditional and non-traditional—to ensure our clients have the most robust and competitive coverage available. Your ability to anticipate market shifts, leverage deep industry relationships, and provide data-driven recommendations will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Strategic Market Placement

  • Lead the marketing of commercial account renewals to a broad range of insurance carriers and programs.

  • Prepare and submit high-quality submissions tailored to each market’s underwriting preferences.

🔹 Program Development & Alternative Solutions

  • Identify and evaluate non-traditional risk financing mechanisms (e.g., captives, deductible buy-backs, layered programs).

  • Present risk solutions that go beyond standard renewals to provide true value.

🔹 Carrier Engagement

  • Negotiate directly with underwriters to secure favorable terms.

  • Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and track changes in market appetite.

🔹 Coverage Analysis & Presentation

  • Compile detailed coverage comparisons and cost-benefit analyses across all quotes.

  • Highlight key coverage nuances, exclusions, and endorsements.

🔹 Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market conditions, industry developments, and competitor offerings.

  • Stay ahead of pricing trends and underwriting shifts.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of risk transfer mechanisms.

  • Ability to interpret and compare complex policy forms.

  • Strong written and verbal communicator who can translate technical detail into client-friendly insights.

  • Proactive, curious, and driven to stay ahead of industry developments.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing timelines and submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years in commercial insurance marketing, brokerage, or underwriting (mid-market or large accounts preferred).

  • Expertise in property, casualty, and specialty insurance lines.

  • Industry designations (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRIS) preferred and supported.

Work Environment:

  • Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

  • Hybrid work schedule available based on client needs and agency policies.

  • Occasional travel for client meetings, industry events, or training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent use of computer systems, telephone, and other office equipment.

  • Extended sitting for policy review, documentation, and client communication.

  • Ability to attend in-person meetings, presentations, or training as needed.
