Overview
Cleans and services rooms, removes waste, and performs special projects as assigned. Inventories and restocks supplies on the unit, and obtains supplies and rental units. Provides support to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and caregivers by performing simple patient care activities. Performs various tasks and duties to provide assistance and support in an expanded Support Tech role to the staff in Surgical Services.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the ongoing development and administration of hospital and department Quality Improvement program. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Maintains equipment and storage areas in a clean and organized manner Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Manager. Maintains sterile technique and universal precautions. May assist in gathering supplies and preparation of equipment prior to surgery. May participate in the cleaning and disinfecting of surgical rooms following the procedures. Assists with moving and transporting patients. Transports equipment, supplies, blood and specimens. Stocks unit supplies. Enters charges, bed requests and patient logs into computer

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
High School diploma or equivalent. Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
One (1) year of experience in a surgical services or other hospital clinical department. Experience as a Support Technician. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units. Work Hours:
2PM-10:30PM
