Overview
Reporting to the Quonset Point Resource Manager, the Proficiency Developer –Electrical provides specialized skill and knowledge for the Electrical trade (OSE). Skills oversight includes all aspects of nuclear and non-nuclear Electrical work in both the shop environment and modular construction as well as the requisite quality requirements and processes. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter, ready to work in a fast-paced production environment supporting QP's operations departments. The candidate will provide direct support to the Directors of Manufacturing, Steel, Outfitting and their Operations Managers in resource utilization, critical skills, proficiency development and knowledge retention. He or she may also be called upon to identify and develop lean processes and provide input and solutions to manufacturing and installation issues that will impact construction. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support Operations Managers and Operations Training Department to insure training is relevant and up to date.
- Assist Operations Managers to develop, implement and maintain Supervisor knowledge assessments. Support developing Operations Supervisor Technical Knowledge Program.
- Assist Operations Management in identifying candidates for future supervisors.
- Support Instructional Design group with identifying, creating and updating new curriculum.
- Working with Ops Managers and Demand Analyst, determine required levels of critical skills to insure uninterrupted performance on backlog and future work.
- Maintain competency and critical skills matrix with current capabilities. Work with Resource Group to identify future needs based on attrition and workload.
- Working with Design/Build, identify areas where new critical skills need to be developed and maintained to support new technology.
- Working with Ops Manager of Electrical assist in identification and justification of new equipment to support increasing demands and leverage new technology.
- Identify, plan and execute OSE Active Learning Centers to support QP growth and proficiency demands
- Active Team Member of the EIT supporting its charter and goals. Responsible to identify, develop and institutionalize all OSE training and active learning.
- Take a lead Ops roll in development, startup, durations and expectations of Electrical Apprenticeship at QP.
- Must possess a working knowledge of the required trade sequencing during module outfitting, to avoid rework.
- Must be engaged with EBos approach to assigning work and tracking performance, have ability to supplement EBos for supervisors that are not making the goals.
- Tracking of Electrical Trade deficiencies for trends at Q.P. and Groton, to adjust training elements in existing training or issue special training bulletins to address issues.(unsats, QIMs, CARs, CRITs, SAPIP )
- Support on site TSRs with decision making for whether an Engineering Report is required or not for problems flagged by trades.
- Must be available to support all shifts as required.
This position is located at our Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI location.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years hands on experience in the OSE discipline
Preferred:
- 3+ years Ops Supervisor experience in OSE
- QP experience
- Experience with AWPSS, EWP, ATA and ELCAD
- Knowledge of content in MDD–00617, TDI-001, MDD-00086
