Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm has an exciting opportunity for a limited-term, full-time engineering intern to work on transportation projects starting May/June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026 in our Chicago, IL office.

The intern will be responsible for assisting engineers, design technicians, and surveyors with civil and transportation engineering projects, including:

• Assisting with engineering drawings, plan preparation, and project reports
• Performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates
• Performing field inspection, documentation, and survey work
• Technical research and writing
• Other tasks as assigned.

The successful candidate must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in engineering from an accredited college or university.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all the following: 

• Experience with Microsoft Office and CAD software
• Construction Field Experience including observation and documentation
• Survey tasks
• Civil/survey engineering coursework
