Overview

Job Title: Crises Response Team  

Department: Damar North

Reports to: Intensive Autism Supervisor (BCBA)

Shift: 1st Shift 

Compensation: Salary / Exempt

Job Summary: The Crises Response Team is responsible for providing support to the Intensive Autism Technicians in ensuring client treatment plans and programs are followed as designed by the Intensive Autism Supervisor. The Crises Response Team role is a position focused on developing critical skills and competencies necessary for successful implementation of intensive autism programming.

Responsibilities

Dependable

  • Serves as a member of Damar’s interdisciplinary team.
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting biweekly before work hours.

Active

  • Ensures the Intensive Autism Technicians’ understanding of new and previously trained interventions or procedures.
  • Supports ongoing training initiatives to provide Intensive Autism Technicians practical application of ABA principles for client specific needs.
  • Provides immediate critical feedback to struggling Intensive Autism Technicians.
  • Uses Behavior Skills Training (BST) to train, model, observe, etc.
  • Performs RBT Competency Assessment-Renewals for current Intensive Autism Technicians within a designated period of time and properly follows guidelines outlined for this process.
  • Remains available and approachable to Intensive Autism Technicians for questions, concerns, or ideas regarding client programming or behavior intervention.
  • Assists the Intensive Autism Supervisor with the completion of various assessments and Practical Functional Assessments.
  • Uses a variety of tools to help determine the function and definition of maladaptive behavior.
  • Assists the Program Manager with the implementation of Practical Functional Assessments as needed.
  • Uses a variety of tools to help determine the function and definition of maladaptive behavior.
  • Seeks assistance when unfamiliar with a procedure, intervention, or technique.
  • Provides direct therapy.
  • Serves as a support person for Intensive Autism Technicians during client maladaptive behavior and appropriately utilizes de-escalation techniques.
  • Remains calm and professional during a crisis.
  • Operates Damar vehicles and/or personal vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 6 months previous experience with autism spectrum disorders required.

Equipment Familiarity: Proficiency with computers and tablets. MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, Outlook.  

Certifications, Licenses or Special Training:

·         RBT Required.

·         Coursework and/or enrollment in supervision towards BCBA certification preferred.

·         Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.

·         Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as              detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.

·         Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of                    Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).

·         Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
