Job Summary and Responsibilities

Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse/ OB Provider. Held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization.  This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.

  • Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently: perform/record vital signs, CPR, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, collect urine specimens, and phlebotomy
  • Assists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
  • Assists with patient transports and transfers
  • Answer telephones, filing, greet patients/visitors, transcribe provider’s orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentation
  • Assists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
  • Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures

 

Job Requirements

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Certified Nurse Assistant; North Dakota, required upon hire.
    • ND State Nursing Assistant Registry -  https://services.ndhhs.gov/nurseaide
  • American Hearth Association Basic Life Support (BLS)-CPR, within 30 days of start.
