Job Summary and Responsibilities

This position contributes to the Mission and Vision of CHI Health by serving as a Multi Market (NE/IA, CAH & Bismarck) Program Manager for the Nurse Residency Program with oversight of the day to day activities of their operations and team members. Provides management support to plan, organize and lead resources with assigned team members; as well as functioning as an individual contributor within the department. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Commitments of CHI Health. The Nurse Residency Program Manager, in partnership with clinical education and National Multi-Market Director, is responsible for maintaining standardization of the nurse residency program, achievement and maintenance of residency program accreditation, and ensures nurse residents are supported in their transition to practice and retained.

 

  • Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations for Nurse Residency Program site coordinators and other assigned staff.
  • Manage performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our commitments using corrective action for direct reports.
  • Executes the day-to-day operational tasks and coordinates program logistics, contributing directly to the program's success.
  • Initiates and participates in National Nurse Residency Program initiatives and innovations across multiple markets, in collaboration with the NNRP Multi Market Director, and other key stakeholders, to ensure program alignment with organizational goals and successful onboarding and development of new graduate nurses.
  • Drives continuous improvement of the Nurse Residency Program by deploying standardized processes, structures and evaluation to ensure accountability to KPIs, and implementing approved program changes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Nursing AND Master's Degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Consider if actively enrolled in graduate program. Must graduate within 18 months of start.
