The Job in a Nutshell:
The Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage (NGVC) Nutritional Health Coach Regional Manager (NHCRM) position is a leadership position. The responsibilities of the NHCRM are to support the Nutrition Health Coach (NHC) in achieving success within their position while working with Store Managers and Regional Managers to effectively integrate the NHC position for supporting the success of the store. NHCRMs help to ensure world-class customer service and operational excellence by providing feedback to Store Managers, Regional Management and the Store Support Center (SSC). This position requires a collaborative team player with a passion for nutrition education and Natural Grocers commitment for creating a sustainable, just, regenerative food system where humans, animals, and the earth can thrive.

NHC SupportOffers monthly regional phone calls Conducts store visitsShares strategies for successfully implementing community relationship building and outreachShares ideas for successfully implementing Nutrient to Know About (NTKA) initiatives to support sales Shares and strategizes ideas for increasing class attendance and coaching sessionsActs as the go-to person for NHCs in assigned region NHC Training and EvaluationsAssist with training and on-boarding new NHCs Provides ongoing communication regarding NHC training and NHC job performance to the Store Managers, Regional Manager and the Nutrition Education DepartmentConducts NHC evaluations The good4U crew meetingsNHC mock and annual coaching sessions Annual and bi-annual performance evaluations In-store class observations Customer Service/Operational ExcellencePerform store visitsCompletes Customer Experience InspectionsMonitors and assess in-store customer service NHC hiringPosts requisitions, reviews applicants, conducts interviews Companywide events and sales initiatives Works with NHCs, Store Managers, and Ops Regional Managers to:Support NTKA salesPromoting and implementation of all company-wide events Partner with NHC, Store Manager, and Ops Regional Managers to achieve goals for increasing customer count and store sales.Participates in and provides input during Regional Manager and Store Manager conference calls Community relationship building/outreach Seek outreach opportunities in the communities for all stores in assigned regionSupport NHCs and Local Store Marketing to increase utilization of the community rooms/demo kitchens Support new store/relocation Grand Opening events Reviews and approves funding for NHC outreach events Leadership and ProfessionalismConduct business professionally at all times and provide exemplary leadership to NHCs within assigned region.Provide motivation to cultivate respect and high performance in the workplace.Consistently promote positive and professional communications with management, staff, and customers at all times.As a professional member of Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage, the NHCRM is expected to promote NGVC’s reputation as a just, respectful, caring and honorable employer and community leader.Demonstrate the highest level of integrity, excellence and ethics. Qualifications
Recipe for Success:
Degree in nutrition or related field At least one-year experience in the Nutrition Health Coach (NHC) position having met expectations in all areas of job performance and annual performance evaluation(s). Management skills Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail Impeccable follow-up and follow-through skills to meet company deadlines Has the ability to act independently and autonomously with little supervision Has the ability to prioritize multiple tasks requiring deadlines Works well with interruptions and changing deadlines Must be self-motivated with a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism Tolerates prolonged viewing of a computer screen Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointand Outlook.
Travel Requirements
Travel to stores to train, conduct evaluations, and provide support for NHCs. Travel may occur on weekends. Maintaining Nutrition Knowledge
If the degree and/or certification requires continuing education to maintain, then those requirements must be fulfilled. If the degree and/or certification do not require CEC, maintaining 16 Continuing Education (CE) Hours (or two CE units) per year is required.

Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs. Must also have the ability to occasionally lift or carry 51-100 lbs. with a team lift.
- Must have the ability to frequently push or pull up to 15 lbs. and occasionally push or pull 16-100 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally use the computer for data entry and use of mouse.
- Must be able to constantly walk, stand, use fine motor manipulations, grip, bend, twist, turn, and reach outward for the duration of the work shift.
- Must be able to frequently to reach above chest.
- Must be able to occasionally sit, squat, kneel, and climb as needed.
Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to frequently work with sharp tools and equipment, dust, fumes, and congested worksite.
