Preferred Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Baccalaureate student nurse who has completed the junior year requirements or associate student nurse with two or less quarters/one semester remaining before graduation.
- Good academic standing in an approved school of nursing.
- 3.2 GPA or higher
- Current CPR certification
- Nursing faculty references and Skill Verification signed by Nextern’s School of Nursing faculty
- Ability to commit 32-40 hours per week for 6-10 weeks.
- Attend weekly 4 hour classes as partial requirement for completion of NRSA 200 course offered by Kettering College. Classroom hours are in partial fulfillment of the 2 hour credit awarded and not paid hours.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- The SNE will collaborate with the CNP in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing care for a caseload of patients, as described by the scope of care in the area of practice in conjunction with the Ohio Board of Nursing Practice Act and GDAHA Guidelines for Student Nurses.
- The scope of practice is guided by the Ohio Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations.
- SNE are enrolled for college credit and may perform those activities that are allowed by a student nurse, under the direction of the CNP.
- The SNE directly impacts patient outcomes and care provided to patients/families/significant others.
