About this role

Established sales engineering professional. Provide pre sales expertise to help identify customer needs for sales teams. Makes independent decisions to ensure support of sales teams is effective and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and layout of fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
• Interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings to create integrated fire alarm designs.
• Ensure system design complies with local, state, and national codes (NFPA 72, NEC, IBC, etc.).
• Develop and review CAD drawings, riser diagrams, wiring schematics, and system layouts.
• Select appropriate fire alarm system components (panels, detectors, NAC devices, etc.).
• Incorporate voice evacuation, mass notification, and interface with other life safety systems such as ASD systems.
• Prepare submittal packages including product data sheets, sequence of operations, and calculations (e.g., battery/load).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and clients.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, architects, and other Project stakeholders.
• Perform quality reviews and audits of fire alarm design documents.
• Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and AHJs regarding system design and approvals.
• Attend client meetings, project kick-offs meetings and Progress meetings.

Basic Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in fire alarm design.

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, and building/fire codes.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits 

The base salary range for this role is $75,841-$89,225. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
