The Opportunity
Join Abbott’s Global Procurement team as a Category Manager, Logistics, where you’ll lead strategic sourcing for international transportation—specifically Air and Ocean freight. This is a high-impact role focused on securing capacity, driving cost predictability, and enhancing global logistics performance across multiple business units.
What You’ll Work On
Manage global sourcing strategies for Air and Ocean freight categories.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs across business units.
Drive supplier performance, cost savings, and operational consistency globally.
Identify and implement process improvements for both business and supplier operations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand logistics needs and align procurement strategies.
Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships to ensure service excellence.
Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience.
At least 7 years of experience in multi-modal international logistics.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a global environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience negotiating and managing logistics contracts.
Background in working with Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs.
Familiarity with global procurement systems and tools.
Strategic sourcing experience in a large, matrixed organization.
The base pay for this position is
$97,300.00 – $194,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
