The Opportunity

Join Abbott’s Global Procurement team as a Category Manager, Logistics, where you’ll lead strategic sourcing for international transportation—specifically Air and Ocean freight. This is a high-impact role focused on securing capacity, driving cost predictability, and enhancing global logistics performance across multiple business units.

What You’ll Work On

• Manage global sourcing strategies for Air and Ocean freight categories.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs across business units.

• Drive supplier performance, cost savings, and operational consistency globally.

• Identify and implement process improvements for both business and supplier operations.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand logistics needs and align procurement strategies.

• Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships to ensure service excellence.

• Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience.

• At least 7 years of experience in multi-modal international logistics.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience negotiating and managing logistics contracts.

• Background in working with Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs.

• Familiarity with global procurement systems and tools.

• Strategic sourcing experience in a large, matrixed organization.

     

The base pay for this position is

$97,300.00 – $194,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
