As Department Manager I, you will oversee your assigned team, serving as a supervisor and resource person to each member. In this role, you will supervise and control annual budgets and collaborate in planning, workflow analysis, procedure changes, scheduling and related administrative duties. You will focus on targeted identified issues you encounter, driving constant improvements and growth opportunities. Ultimately, your work helps facilitate the ongoing functioning and organization of Cleveland Clinic, making you an invaluable member of our caregiver family. 

 

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—5:00pm. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

  • Manage department operations and personnel. 

  • Complete staffing, training, workflow analysis and performance management. 

  • Manage staffing to ensure appropriate allocation and compliance with goals and objectives. 

  • Monitor quality and financial performance. 

  • Ensure compliance with government health regulations, JCAHO guidelines, quality requirements and customer service standards. 

  • Recommend enhancement and cost saving strategies. 

  • Resolve interdepartmental issues to ensure consistency in quality, procedure and policy application. 

  • Develop, monitor and implement programs to enhance customer service, develop skills and improve scope of service. 

  • Analyze programs and make improvements.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Associate’s Degree and three years of experience as a Team Lead or in a supervisory/management role  

  • OR High School Diploma/GED and five years of experience  

  • OR Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or a related field 

  • Healthcare experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
