As Lead Facilities Maintenance Technician II, you will perform preventive and corrective equipment, structures and system maintenance throughout the facility. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and initial resource for related questions and concerns while assisting the department with fulfilling essential day-to-day operations.  

A caregiver in this position works days 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Serve as a go-to contact within certain projects across the enterprise.  
  • Ensure policies and procedures are communicated and upheld by staff.  
  • Monitor department activities and provide coaching and feedback to team members when appropriate. 
  • Perform routine electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting maintenance repair work. 
  • Perform utility and structural repairs alone or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons as needed. 
  • Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed pursuant to departmental policies and warranty/vendor requirements. 
  • Assist co-workers with maintenance-related questions, comments and concerns in a Subject Matter Expert capacity.  
  • Work across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Four years of work experience in general electric, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repair, machinery/millwright or HVAC, OR completion of a formal training program in building repair to include general electric, plumbing, carpentry, painting, maintenance repair, machinery/millwright or HVAC

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to climb ladders ​
