Responsibilities

This individual will manage a dynamic and well-established portfolio of high-touch projects supporting top-tier donors, Cor Vitae Society members and Professional Advisor Network members across the organization in support of the outright and deferred revenue goals of the department. This manager will be strategic, creative, and highly organized to lead the development and execution of compelling donor-facing content and high-impact stewardship materials, and partnering across teams to develop communications that build trust, convey impact, and inspire continued engagement.

 

Donor Impact Reporting Portfolio Management

  • Oversee a portfolio of donor impact reports, ensuring timely, personalized, and high-quality stewardship communications for top-tier donors and Giving Society members
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather accurate data, stories, and outcomes that demonstrate the tangible impact of donor support
  • Develop tailored report frameworks that align with donor intent, funding designations, and organizational priorities
  • Ensure reports are visually engaging, emotionally resonant, and consistent with brand and messaging standards
  • Continuously improve processes for tracking, producing, and delivering impact reports to meet and exceed donor expectations
  • Monitor donor feedback and engagement to refine storytelling strategies and report formats over time

Content Creation & Editorial Leadership

  • Conduct interviews with donors, volunteers, and stakeholders to develop authentic, inspiring narratives.
  • Plan, research, write, edit, and curate a wide variety of donor-facing content, including but not limited to:
    • Donor stewardship magazines and newsletters
    • Annual report content
    • Targeted email campaigns and multi-email journeys
    • Executive scripts and speaking points for donor events
    • Community impact stories, funding opportunity spotlights, and success stories
    • Web and social media content tailored for donor engagement
    • Acknowledgement templates and stewardship reporting materials
    • Donor-facing booklets and guides to accompany events, such as Scientific Sessions and ISC
  • Plan, research, write, edit, and curate a wide variety of professional advisor-facing content, including but not limited to:
    • Membership and prospect acquisition collateral materials
    • Professional Advisor Network articles, newsletters, magazines
    • Advisor-related website and social media copy
  • Edit article content from guest contributors to ensure clarity, tone, and alignment with brand and donor engagement goals
  • Work with graphic designers, science translators, and other third parties on end products for a variety of audiences

Production & Event Support

  • Support production and implementation needs for national donor events and high-level engagements such as Connect with the CEO
  • Draft scripts, talking points, and conversation guides as needed to facilitate donor events and other high-level communication needs
  • Produce supporting materials for the implementation of advisor and prospect-facing internal events, sponsored tradeshows and other marketing events promoting the Professional Advisor Network

Support of Stewardship and Engagement Plans and Activities

  • Draft and implement a year-round calendar of communication touchpoints and stewardship activities for Cor Vitae members, Professional Advisor Network members, and other audiences as assigned
  • Draft copy and oversee creative design and production of touchpoint pieces such as greeting cards, thank you pieces, welcome kits, etc.

Internal Communications and Staff Development

  • Ensure department staff are fully updated on relevant news and information through content creation and support of a variety of channels such as Tempo newsletter, Team Meetings, SharePoint, internal email drops, etc.
  • Assist with staff development and training by producing one-pagers, scripts, talking points, training curriculum, and other materials as assigned, affiliated with team trainings, BrainShark, and Heart U learning modules, staff resource guides, training toolkits, etc.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three (3) years of experience
  • Experience in a communications, marketing, or public relations role, with a national scope preferred
  • Experience managing communications, project management, and editorial planning
  • Experience working with volunteers and donors
  • Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and set priorities
  • Strong writer with excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to a variety of mediums
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and with context
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Solid computer skills with the capability to master new software applications and technologies. Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint are required
  • Ability to engage all major, principal, and planned donor types, and to collaborate with partners across departments and/or teams
  • Experience producing work for and/or with senior leadership and/or executives
  • Demonstrated ability to advance and align with established strategy and/or vision, with the ability to take direction while also contributing ideas and value
  • Experience writing in AP style and adherence to editorial and branding guidelines
  • Ability to travel up to 5% local and overnight stay

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in a non-profit setting, national level preferred
  • Experience working with donors and volunteers in a philanthropy setting
  • Working in a collaborative setting
  • Knowledge of design, such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator or other similar platforms
  • Ability to leverage data to inform content development decisions
  • Experience navigating the complexities of a large, matrixed organization
  • Experience providing updates in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
