POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in critical review of literature.
  • Contribute to the writing of manuscripts.
  • Perform data collection and quality control of study data.
  • Develop recruitment materials and graphics for presentations.
  • Implement quality control procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of grants for future studies.
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation.
  • Assist with communications with overseas research partners.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

    The graduate assistant will work closely with the director and program manager of the Global Diabetes Institute, as well as the research fellows within the team. There will be regular check-ins with Dr. Hawkins to review study progress and work related to global health.   Time tracking and documentation are required to maintain compliance with Federal Work-Study guidelines.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a currently enrolled M.D. student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study as determined by the Office of Student Finance.
  • Minimum Salary Range

    USD $20.00/Hr.

    Maximum Salary Range

    USD $20.00/Hr.

    ABOUT US

    The Global Diabetes Institute and Dr. Hawkins’s lab within the Department of Endocrinology is seeking a part-time Graduate Assistant to coordinate administrative responsibilities, including research projects conducted by Dr. Meredith Hawkins and her team at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The research project aims to understand the central regulation of glucose production in type 2 diabetes, to improve diabetes care. The graduate assistant will assist the principal investigator in administrative tasks and data analysis for the study. Additionally, the student will also be responsible for assisting the Director of the Global Diabetes Institute in writing manuscripts, coordinating with international research partners, and analyzing data on type 5 diabetes. The student will join a positive and encouraging work environment.
