Overview

The Skate Park Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the YMCA Skate Park and all part-time staff. This includes monitoring skate park admissions, supervision of facilities and staff, and safety and behavior of all participants through understanding and implementation of skate park policies and procedures. The individual must also demonstrate job skills related to the administrative assignments and is responsible for leading, maintaining, and organizing a designated skate park program.

Schedule:

  • Location: Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Skate Park 
  • Weekend availability required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily supervision of the skate park 
  • Supervision of other staff during skate sessions 
  • Address customer problems/complaints as necessary 
  • Coordinate weekend session opening/closing in the event of rain 
  • Assist in scheduling of skate staff and other administrative duties 
  • Coordinate skate birthday parties with extreme fun – schedule staff to host parties 
  • Assist in development and implementation of new programs in skate park 
  • Monitor the upkeep of the skate ramps 
  • Meet weekly with Program Director – Skate, Camps, and Teens on the progress of skate park attendance, staff, programs, etc
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds 
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency 
  • Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and procedures 
  • The physical ability to lead & interact in group activities & perform related skills 
  • Must be flexible, scheduling of hours may vary on a weekly basis 
  • Ability to instructor classes of all ages 
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

  • 1+ year’s experience working in a skate park facility 
  • Experience in supervising staff 
  • Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications 
  • CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: 
    • American Red Cross
    • American Heart Association
    • American Safety & Health Institute

Pay Range

USD $19.69 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
