Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Flat Welders for projects located in the Shelby, NC area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $30-32/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope:          

• Performing certified MIG welding on detention-grade components including cell panels, door frames, and reinforcement parts

• Fitting, aligning, and tacking heavy-gauge steel components according to fabrication drawings, jigs, and tight tolerances

• Welding structural joints and seams with proper penetration and finish per approved procedures

• Assisting in the assembly of modular jail cell units, ensuring accurate alignment of door frames, hinges, brackets, and structural tie-ins

• Conducting visual weld inspections and verifying fit-up accuracy

• Grinding, cleaning, and prepping welded components for coating or finishing

• Maintaining safe work practices and proper PPE usage in the fabrication shop

• Assisting with material movement, staging, and general housekeeping in the work area
