Overview

As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive technical training programs in support of our federal client. You will work as part of a cross-functional team—including other types of design and technical experts—engaging with stakeholders and end-users to develop an effective approach and ensure adoption of new systems and processes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop learner personas to create tailored training for diverse user needs
  • Analyze existing training materials and business processes to identify learning gaps/needs and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct user-wide learning needs analyses and identify business process training gaps
  • Conduct user research to determine learning content scope and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to structure learning paths
  • Balance stakeholder expectations with learner needs through training approach deliverables
  • Develop interactive and engaging training materials using a variety of modalities (videos, user guides, eLearning, etc.) with learner theories in mind (ADDIE, Bloom’s, Spiral Model, etc.) to create dynamic learning experiences
  • Incorporate proper implementation of knowledge checks and compliance tracking 
  • Lead and direct training development and delivery
  • Establish metrics and measure user adoption 
  • Facilitate learning management system administration, usage, and develop feedback loops for enhancement 
  • Consider long-term governance plans for sustaining training programs and materials like the development of Train-the-Trainer structures

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Public Trust Security Clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in Education, Training, or a related field
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in training on technical systems or software
  • Thorough knowledge of the full training life cycle and demonstrated ability to develop and implement
  • Knowledge of contemporary learning management software platforms
  • Experience with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary delivery team including UX/UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, solution architects, and change managers 
  • A collaborative nature with excellent written communication and presentation skills  
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and a natural curiosity for solving problems coupled with strong analytical skills  
  • Experience with 508 compliant training
  • Experience working in an agile project-based environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Mastery of Training tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Training and Instructional Design
