Overview

***INTRADEPARTMENTAL APPLICANTS ONLY***A Physical Therapist Lead evaluates patients? conditions, develops personalized treatment plans, and implements therapeutic interventions to optimize functional abilities. This position is a therapist who is a recognized subject matter expert in daily operations and/or patient care. This therapist serves as a resource for multiple disciplines and guides clinical practice, quality improvement, and program development in support of the manager. The Physical Therapist Lead understands the broader scope and can present rationale across all disciplines with the emphasis on the department growth and progress. This therapist is sought out to provide education where needed. They effectively and efficiently perform all physical therapist essential job functions seamlessly between all diagnoses and complexities.

 

Responsibilities

 

***INTRADEPARTMENTAL APPLICANTS ONLY***Leads thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations and synthesizes all information to develop individualized treatment plans.Administers therapeutic exercises and other interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.Collaborates with others in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care.Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions so that treatment plans can be adjusted as needed.Collaborates on teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.Participates in hiring and managing clinical performance of team members.Assists team departmental leadership in coordinating activities of team to support clinical reasoning, assuring appropriate care delivery, and facilitating achievement of outcomes.Takes a leadership role in ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies and assists departmental leadership in developing and implementing action plans to resolve non-compliance. Works with team to delegate appropriate patients/tasks to other team members to free self for professional duties.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

 

EXPERIENCE:Required: 6 years

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: North Carolina license by the NCPT Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
