Position Overview:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and leading Production Team Leaders (PTL’s) so that Operational shift objectives and priorities are consistently understood and met.  A primary component of this role is field leadership, mentoring and development of PTL’s and operators.  This position is responsible for sustaining work processes and unit performance as managers change and through “crew” changes of PTL’s and Operators.  It includes understanding of the short-term business plan for their area of responsibility and supporting the PTL’s to achieve these objectives with a strong focus on excellent HSSE performance, throughputs, yields and energy usage.  They also work in conjunction with the Business Team Leader, Unit Performance Manager and Production Specialist to develop the long-term strategy for the respective operating area.  This position works in the Power Stations Area.

Responsibilities:

  • Display field leadership of personal and process safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Act as a coach and mentor for the PTL’s and operators on his/her shift.
  • Supervise PTL’s and hourly workforce.
  • Accountable for the enforcement of performance standards for Production personnel.
  • Understand daily operation of units against targets, limitations, and follow up on performance of meeting those daily operations targets and shift plan objectives.
  • Assure PTL’s lead the shift teams to understand threats and define shift objectives.  Escalate to additional levels of support when PTL’s and shift teams need assistance to meet those objectives or mitigate threats.
  • Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines pertaining to health, safety & environmental issues, together with emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others.  Demonstrate Safety & Environmental leadership in prioritizing work.

Experience and Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience supervising hourly Operators
  • 10+ years of experience working in refining or chemical operations

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with and working knowledge of ESP, GAME ME, RCM, and Turnaround work processes
  • Experience with and working knowledge of Power Stations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots and hearing protection)
