Job Purpose

The Senior SAFe Scrum Master / Team Coach guides Agile teams and the Agile Release Train (ART) to deliver value effectively. This role facilitates iteration and PI Planning events, helps teams manage dependencies, remove impediments, and resolve conflicts, and supports continuous improvement of agile practices. By coaching teams and collaborating with Product Owners and other stakeholders, the role ensures transparency, alignment, and adoption of SAFe principles across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor Agile teams to improve maturity, self-organization, and performance.
  • Facilitate all iteration events, including planning, daily syncs, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support backlog refinement, user story development, and PI Planning with the team and Product Owner.
  • Collaborate within the ART cadence to ensure alignment, manage dependencies, and promote continuous learning.
  • Establish and maintain Kanban boards to visualize work flow and optimize delivery.
  • Measure and track flow, competency, and outcomes using OKRs and related metrics.
  • Guide teams in applying Built-in Quality practices to achieve high performance and delivery standards.
  • Help resolve team conflicts and support effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Encourage innovation and professional development during IP Iterations.
  • Contribute to Communities of Practice (CoPs) and collaborate with SAFe Practice Consultants (SPCs).
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration to deliver integrated product solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • SAFe 6.0 Scrum Master Certification (mandatory).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Team Coach in a large enterprise.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Strong expertise with Jira Software, Confluence, FigJam, and Jira Align.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced certifications such as SAFe SASM 6.0, SAFe SPC 6.0, SAFe SA 6.0, SAFe RTE 6.0, CSM, ICAgile, or SAFe Studio experience.
  • Experience coaching multiple teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with driving Agile transformation initiatives at scale.
