Director of Behavioral Health

Location: Alameda, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $187,000 – $208,000 (depending on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Behavioral Health to oversee the behavioral health division within a growing healthcare system. This role blends leadership, strategic planning, and clinical oversight to deliver high-quality, integrated behavioral health services.

Essential Functions

• Direct and manage behavioral health programs and operational goals
• Lead a team of licensed clinicians and administrative staff
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and community partners
• Evaluate service delivery metrics and implement performance improvements
• Guide professional development and staff training initiatives

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, or related field
• Current California licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, PhD, PsyD, or RN with psychiatric background)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in behavioral health, including leadership roles
• Strong understanding of clinical best practices and community mental health systems
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
