As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the legal entity general ledgers, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and country accounting standards. You’ll play a key role in month-end closings, asset tracking, and financial reporting. You will work closely with site Finance Manager, other General Ledger colleagues, Costing, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams. This is a temporary role for maternity cover (~ up to 2 years)
- Prepare and process journal entries using the company’s ERP system.
- Execute month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and financial statement reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset accounts (additions, depreciation, disposals).
- Monitor inventory, accounts payable/receivable, and other ledger areas in coordination with local finance teams.
- Ensure compliance with global accounting standards and internal controls.
- Support financial statement explanations and disclosures.
- Promote a culture aligned with Norit values, teamwork, and high environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or General Ledger Accountant role, ideally within a multinational company.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Collaborative team player, willing to work with others.
- Monthly salary 1700 - 2300 EUR Gross (depending on qualifications and experience);
