ROLE: Community & Cultural Events Coordinator

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

REPORTS TO: Cultural Programming Manager

POSITION:  Full-time w/ benefits

POSITION SUMMARY

The C&C Events Coordinator is primarily responsible for the on-the-ground execution of community-focused events at The Orion Amphitheater, serving as the lead day-of point of contact for internal teams, vendors, talent, and community partners. This is a highly active, public-facing role focused on ensuring events run smoothly, safely, and professionally from start to finish.

In addition to leading day-of operations, the C&C Events Coordinator supports key pre-event logistics—such as managing vendor applications, coordinating staffing needs, and aligning with operations teams to ensure all elements are in place ahead of time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, people-centric environment and brings strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to every phase of the event process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the lead on-site representative for community events, managing all day-of logistics and serving as the primary point of contact for vendors, partners, artists, and internal teams.
  • Oversee event setup, load-in/load-out, timeline adherence, and troubleshoot any issues that arise in real time.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, production, security, and guest services to ensure events run smoothly and safely.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout events to support vendors, performers, and attendees, and uphold The Orion Amphitheater’s standards of hospitality and professionalism.
  • In the lead-up to events, assist with administrative and logistical tasks including reviewing vendor applications, submitting staffing requests, and confirming run-of-show details.
  • Provide post-event feedback and reporting to internal teams.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS + PREREQUISITES

  • Solid experience in event execution, venue operations, or similar hands-on event roles.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; comfortable making decisions and leading in high-pressure, live environments.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage both day-of details and pre-event logistics.
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules require.
  • Must be able to remain mobile for extended periods to perform essential job duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to perform material handling tasks that may involve lifting upwards of 50 lbs.
