Woodard & Curran is growing, and we are looking for qualified Water Distribution and/or Treatment Operators in Mansfield, CT! The Water Operator regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment and Distribution facility as directed by the Plant Manager. Responsibilities:

Each day presents different challenges and learning opportunities as we work towards maintaining 100% compliance which is achieved by daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system. Operators work M-F between the hours of 0700-1600. Operators rotate a 7 day on call coverage schedule, with a $200 per week on call stipend provided. 

What You Will Need To Succeed

  • Preferably possess a minimum of Connecticut Class 1 Treatment and Class 2 Distribution Operator Licenses – or the ability to acquire these licenses within 2 years.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the water treatment and distribution industry preferred.
  • A valid State of Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Collection Systems.
  • Proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with: SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel, Maintenance Management Programs, and other site-specific systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

$26 - $32 per-hour-wage
