  • Research and select materials based on customer’s strength or tooling requirements
  • Create drawings from 3D models in accordance with ASME standards
  • Reverse engineer parts and assemblies using standard machine shop inspection tools and equipment to fill in missing or incorrect data in drawings and loft
  • Assist in vendor selection based on derived project or specification requirements
  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes (ISO9001, AS9100D, and NADCAP)
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Write detailed build, assembly, inspection, and production instructions to assist the production team
  • Identify root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for discrepancies and deficiency
  • Utilize the lean manufacturing approach to integrate automation and increase efficiency of manufacturing processes
  • Assist in mentorship of junior engineers and technicians to transfer process knowledge and increase technical proficiencies
  • Support business development efforts and provide technical expertise on bids, proposals and RFQs
  • Prioritize and execute tasking in a timely fashion within a dynamic work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering or science discipline required  

Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Experience with NX and/or SolidWorks and the ability to model complex, lofted aerospace parts is preferred
  • Experience with reading and interpreting government 2D drawings and GD&T
  • Experience in automating tooling to manufacture, repair, and assemble aircraft parts and other products
  • Experience designing and implementing advanced additive manufacturing solutions
  • Experience with LabView, NX and/or MATLAB to process and compile data for test reporting and research and development projects
  • Experience with C++, Python and/or RUST programming languages for system integration and development of control systems
  • Knowledge and experience with tooling design for composite manufacturing preferred
  • Understanding and experience with various additive and reductive manufacturing processes

Security:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
