Role

We are seeking an experienced hire to take a leading role in driving the end-to-end performance of a high-capacity coal processing plant in Gdansk, ensuring operational excellence from raw coal intake through to final product dispatch

You will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the coal processing plant, ensuring production targets are met in line with required volume, quality, and specification standards, with support from the operations and commercial teams within our wider offices in Krakow and London predominantly.

Responsibilities:

  • Full management of the coal processing plant operations – from raw coal intake to final product loading and dispatch
  • Achieving production targets in terms of volume, quality, and product specifications
  • Optimization of coal processing (crushing, screening)
  • Supervision of plant maintenance, planning and coordination of routine repairs, shutdowns, and equipment overhauls
  • Monitoring and continuous improvement of key performance indicators: coal recovery rate, ash content, moisture, yield
  • Close cooperation with quality/lab, logistics, sales
  • Implementation of technological improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and process efficiency projects
  • Regular reporting of production results, KPIs
  • Higher technical education (preferred: Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering, Mining Machinery)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on supervisory/management experience in coal handling
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and quick decision-making under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills, assertiveness, and leadership capabilities
  • Category B driving license (active)
