The business is seeing large increases in the demand for its newest products and is focused in significantly expanding the product portfolio over next few years. Design engineering it at the core of this growth. The business is looking to expand its team of engineers by establishing a design team in Taiwan to work along side the teams in the UK and US.
Job Purpose
You will be working as part of a highly skilled engineering team that will be responsible for specifying and designing laser and EDM machine tools, associated tooling and ancillary equipment. We are looking for you to have a strong technical background and a sound understanding of mechanical engineering design and safety practice in relation to the design of machine tools.
This role covers all mechanical aspects of the design process including specification, concept design, detailed design, artifact design, build definition, release and maintenance of bill of materials into an MRP system and certification of the final product.
You should be familiar with working to a systematic gated design process, ensuring that designs are developed with correct attention to ease of manufacture, sourcing of parts and assembly, that the release of design definition into the MRP system is managed correctly and that there is a well documented hand over to the production team for the manufacture and testing of the machine.
This position will work out of the Winbro facility located in Dajia, Taichung City, Taiwan.
