About Auror
At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.
Founded in New Zealand 12 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.
In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.
We're also embracing the potential of AI to supercharge our impact—whether that's enhancing the way we detect trends, support our customers, or improve internal workflows. As a company, we're committed to responsibly incorporating AI into how we work and what we build, and we encourage all Aurors to be curious about how AI can elevate their work, regardless of role or function.
The Role
As our Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of Auror’s finance operations across North America.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will own key regional finance processes end-to-end, including month-end close, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and operational reporting, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and aligned with both local regulatory requirements and IFRS group reporting standards.
You’ll be a strong team member, trusted to independently manage core financial processes while serving as a key business partner to the North America team. You’ll not only deliver high-quality financial outputs, but also proactively improve systems, simplify workflows, and drive automation and AI adoption that enables Auror to scale efficiently in a high-growth environment.
Practically, this will involve:
This role reports to Abby Apter, Director of Finance, North America.
I joined Auror in January, excited by the significant growth opportunities unfolding in North America. My experience spans a variety of company sizes and stages, so it is exciting to be building processes and directly contributing to the success of our team and the broader business. The Auror team is exceptional; they are genuine people who are passionate about their work and, more importantly, how they collaborate. Outside of work, I'm busy chasing my young son, heading up to the mountains to ski, enjoying the Denver sunshine while gardening, and fitting in Peloton workouts to balance out my love for sweets.
About you
You’re a technically strong accountant or finance professional who combines operational excellence with commercial curiosity. You care about accuracy and compliance, but you’re equally motivated by improving systems, simplifying complexity, and helping the business scale.
You’re comfortable owning regional processes independently while being a highly collaborative member of a global finance team.
Here’s what you’ll bring:
We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).

We celebrate diversity and inclusiveness at Auror, regardless of (but not limited to) race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.
