REC is partnering with a well-established, nationally recognized engineering consulting firm to identify a Senior Project Engineer specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in delivering complex pipeline and conveyance projects across the Western U.S., with a strong emphasis on Colorado and neighboring markets.

This role blends technical leadership, project execution, and client engagement. You’ll be instrumental in driving project success while helping expand market presence and strengthen long-term client relationships.

You’ll collaborate with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams to grow the firm’s water practice, while mentoring staff and contributing to strategic initiatives.

🔧 What You’ll Do

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water/wastewater conveyance and pipeline projects
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop proposals, statements of qualifications, and project execution strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector utility clients
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers and support staff
  • Support business development efforts and identify new project opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and internal procedures
  • Stay current on industry trends and innovations, recommending improvements where applicable
  • Represent the firm through industry events and professional organizations

🧠 What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • PE license (Colorado and/or California, or ability to obtain)
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, focused on water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Proven success managing projects, clients, and teams
  • Strong background in planning, design, and construction oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business development and client growth
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Expertise in pipeline/conveyance systems is highly desirable

💼 Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary Range: $148,000 – $167,000 (flexible based on experience, location, and market conditions)
